Ark Valley Voice hacked: from Michelle Pujol

To all the Midland Hikers,

Thanks so much for the emails and the blogs.  We’ve been in Arizona and are trying to get home this next week but once we’re back all of these suggestions are great and I love the blog.  I was going to put this information below on the blog, but I couldn’t see a way for me to post a new item (only comment on one already written) so I hope you don’t mind that I’m using the email list to get the word out, especially during this uncertain time where timely knowledge is key.

I know that many of you read the Ark Vally Voice free online publication.  Some come directly to the publication but over 1000 people follow Ark Valley Voice’s facebook page and that’s how they get their news and information on what’s happening in our community.

On Tuesday night a disgruntled former contractor for Ark Valley Voice has used an unauthorized back door into the Ark Valley Voice Facebook Page, removed the official AVV administrators and blocked us from posting any further news articles on our own organization’s page.  At the moment, it appears that this perpetrator has actually taken down the original Ark Valley Voice Facebook page.  This activity has been reported the FBI and is being reported to local authorities. The FBI has classified this as an interstate cyber crime.
Ark Valley Voice, as a news organization and a member of the Colorado Press Association, is considered an essential service during the national and state response to the Coronavirus pandemic.   This makes the act of interfering with our ability to get out important news and information during what Governor Polis has declared to be a state disaster emergency even more serious.
Ark Valley Voice has setup a new Facebook page, Ark Valley Voice Colorado, https://www.facebook.com/ArkValleyVoiceCO to distribute our news stories.  We hope all or our readers can help us get the word out to your own social media pages, so that our followers can find us.  This has left hundreds of people who normally access our AVV stories from their Facebook feeds without information, at a time when our country is dealing with a pandemic that threatens our lives and safety.
As always, you can visit www.arkvalleyvoice.com directly for the latest news and information or sign up for our free weekly blast, containing the last week’s worth of posts.  Please tell your friends and help us get the word out – TRUTH still does have a Voice!
Thanks you,
Michelle Pujol and The AVV Crew
